Thoughts on non-dairy "ice cream"?

Why bother? Ice cream is supposed to be a treat.
I can see it being good for people who can't eat lactose.
I'd try it, but no promises.
Might be a good way to indulge without all the fat that comes with dairy?
If someone made a good dairy-free frozen dessert, I could die happy.
